How to download a YouTube video in 3 steps

Is YTDown free to use?

Yes. Every quality and every format is free, and you can save as many videos as you like, one link at a time.

Do I need to install an app or make an account?

No. YTDown runs in your web browser on any phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install and no sign-up.

Which qualities can I download?

Video comes as MP4 in 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, 240p or 144p, depending on what the video offers. Audio comes as MP3 with a choice of 320, 256, 192, 128 or 64 kbps.

Can I download YouTube Shorts?

Yes. Copy the Shorts link from the app or the browser and paste it in the box. You get the same MP4 and MP3 options as for a normal video.

Where are the files saved on my phone?

On Android, look in the Downloads folder or the Files app. On iPhone and iPad, open the Files app and go to Downloads.

Is there a file size limit?

No. Long videos work too. Every quality shows its file size before you tap, so you can pick one that fits your storage.

Why can't some videos be downloaded?

Private, deleted or blocked videos cannot be reached. If a video does not work, check the link or try another one.
